Active Membership

What is an Active Membership?

ALPFA members must meet the minimum 15 point requirement by the end of the semester/last official meeting to be considered an active member. There are opportunities to earn points in the following categories (each category has a suggested amount of point minimums). To verify points other than weekly meeting attendance, DM the VP of Membership on GroupMe. Here is the link to the Spring 2021 Active Membership Checklist.

The minimum points in each category are required for each semester:

Attendance | 5 points

  • Each meeting = 1 point

Participation | 3 points

  • Each 15-minute Zoom meeting with an executive board officer = 1 point
  • Each Survey/Participation Related GroupMe poll = 1 point
  • Each ALPFA Activity = 1 point

Certification/Workshop | 1 point

  • 1 Certification = 1 point
  • 1 SDSU business-related workshop = 1 point

Networking & Professional Development | 6 points

  • Each LinkedIn connection with a(n):
    • ALPFA member = 1 point (5 point limit)
    • Recruiter/Guest Speaker = 1 point (3 point limit)
  • Spring Meet The Firms = 2 points
  • Apply for BMACC = 2 points
  • Apply for Scholarships = 2 points
  • Meeting with major advisor = 1 point
  • SDSU Leadership and Networking Events = 1 point

Mentorship | Optional

  • Each meeting with your ALPFA Mentor = 2 points (offered in Fall 2021)
  • Each meeting with a mentor from AMP= 2 points

Total | 15 points

*Every active member will be entered in a drawing for an ALPFA prize at the end of the semester!
